MemberHello,
question about “Break Even Point”:
Does the EA “move” the value to the defined point, or closing the trade?Thank You

ParticipantThis is from the Functions Glossary, which can be found here; https://quivofx.com/school/functions/
Breakeven
The Breakeven function secures your trade by moving the stop loss to a profitable area once your trade has moved a certain number of pips. Example: If BreakEvenPoint is 20 and PipsToLockIn is 5, then the EA will automatically move the stop loss to +5 pips once the trade has moved +20 pips. This function requires a stop loss greater than zero!UseBreakEven
Set UseBreakEven to True if you want to use break even
BreakEvenPoint
This determines when you want your position to break even. This parameter will activate the break even function if the value is set above 0.
PipsToLockIn
Determine the pips you want to save after reaching the break even level.If you set breakevenpoint to 10pips & pipstolockin to 3, then at 10pips porfit the SL will move to Entry+3pips.

MemberI understood this, I was asking, because it seems to me, that the EA is closing the trade, instead of just moving the SL!?

ParticipantWhat is your TP setting? might be easier to see if somethings off by posting your .set file.

MemberThanks for your answer.
TP = 210
SL = 090
TS = 015
When to trail = 035
BE = 020
Lock in = 01023-02-2018 at 18:59 #249428ontheedge
ParticipantI’m not at my computer right now to test this when I get a chance I will try.
I think what you’re seeing is the market retracing after your BE is placed, 10 pips which is why it’s closing out so quickly. Try watching this in visual mode to see if that’s what’s taking place.
OR
Try making your pips to lock in just enough to cover cost. So two to five Pips and see if this improves your strategy results.

ParticipantExample:
Breakeven Point = 50
Pips to lock in = 30This means that when price is 50 pips in profit, the EA will move the SL to 30 pips profit (such that your 30 pip profit is secured and locked).
One of the best things you can do is to combine the Breakeven features with the Trailing Stop features.
I’m quite sure I mentioned this loooooong ago several times on the forum.26-02-2018 at 05:58 #251570maitdjai
