MACD EA

Hello! I emailed as well. This could be faster. I bought the MACD EA from you today and downloaded it. I got it on the charts and chose the settings, but the EA is not working. I have a sad face. I tried other EAs and they work, but this one is not. Can you help me? Thanks so much. I’m excited to use it. Shay

I have downloaded the MACD EA and set it to MACD Line Crosses Zero.

I put it on a 5 Minute chart – CADCHF – last night at 17:00 GMT.

It has opened only one trade at 20:10 and closed it at 15:03 GMT today.

It opened the trade correctly, at zero cross – but closed the trade today when the MACD was not near to the zero line, and had been above the zero line for the previous 10 hours.

It the opened a new trade 14 minutes later, when the macd was still wel above the zero line.

Your advise would be appreciated.

My apologies – you were correct, the trade was closed by the stop loss.

I have now retested on 4 different pairs on 4 different Time Frames,
setting the S/L and T/P to 500, to prevent them triggering.

The trades open at ‘MACD Line Crosses Zero’ every time, correctly.

But the trades do not close when the MACD line crosses back the other way.
As I have set the S/L and T/P very high, the trades do not close,
even when the MACD cross ocurrs many times.

Does this mean the EA cannot close a trade by MACD cross
and only closes a trade by S/L or T/P or manually?

The MACD EA has 3 different exit strategies. So yes, the EA can closes trades based on a MACD signal.

The EA can’t open a trade based on an MA trend filter signal. The EA only opens a trade on one of the following 3 signals:

1. Normal MACD:
   Opens a buy position if the Signal Line breaks out of the
   MACD histogram and both are below the zero line. Vice versa for sell positions.
2. MACD Line Crosses Zero:
   Opens a buy position if the MACD Line (Histogram) crosses the zero line from above.
3. Signal Line Crosses Zero:
   Opens a buy position if the Signal Line crosses the zero line from above.
