Hi Yannick:
I have recently purchased the MA Cross EA Pro. It does however not perform as advertised – it opens multiple positions per pair, and when it does this it negates the Reverse on Opposite Signal.
I am luckily trading on a demo account, but you can imagine what this does to performance when you all of the sudden have 5 positions open, there is a cross the other direction and it does not respond…
Do you have a fix for this?
Best,
Andrew05-07-2018 at 12:42 #371458YannickKeymasterActually, already 2 people wrote to me because of the same issue. Unfortunately, I could never reproduce the error and hence not fix it.
Can you please tell me what Broker, Account Type, Timeframe, Symbols you use.
Please also provide your settings.Did this also happen on the basic version or only the pro version?
05-07-2018 at 13:08 #371549Andrew LandMemberHi Yannick: I trade with Axitrader on a demo account, using a Forex VPS Server. I trade on the M5 chart and the H1 chart – it happened on both. It happened on a variety of symbols, including USDJPY, EURUSD, WTI and USDCHF.
It doesnt do it each time, hence it is tough to follow. It does seem to happen more often on the lower timeframes.
Possible causes: I trade multiple demo accounts with axitrader? The VPS server?
For some reason my MT4 doesnt allow me to save the settings as a preset, but in general I have:
TP: 200
SL: 50
Reverse on Opposite Signal: TRUE
Close on Signal: FALSE
Martingale: FALSE
Trend Filter: FALSE
Money Management: TRUE (1%)
No trailing stop or break even06-07-2018 at 15:56 #372419YannickKeymasterI trade multiple demo accounts with axitrader?
I do not think this is the problem. Accounts are separated. Unless you use only one MT4 instance and switch accounts? Have you installed MT4 multiple times for each demo account or do your run all account on one MT4?
The VPS server?
Do you use the built-in VPS service from metaquotes or a 3-party VPS?
MT4 doesnt allow me to save the settings as a preset
This is strange…
I will open a demo account and run the EA for a week on a demo account on my VPS. I will let you know my results.
09-07-2018 at 16:05 #374493YannickKeymasterNo error so far. Do you use the latest MT4 version 1090?
09-07-2018 at 16:14 #374496Andrew LandMemberHello Yannick:
Thanks for your replies and good to hear that your test yielded no errors so far.
I am using the EA also on the H4 chart and also no errors there, so maybe its related to the shorter timeframes…
I am indeed using a 3rd party VPS, not inbuilt
I have installed MT multiple times, so my tests run along side at the same time (4x same EA with different settings and timeframes)
Do you know where I can find which MT4 version I have? I have downloaded it about 6-8 weeks ago. Thanks and best,

Just to make sure. The MT4s you have installed run all on a different demo account number? Have you set a different magic number for each EA running on the same symbol?

Go to help > about. There are the version and the build number.
12-07-2018 at 10:55 #376723Andrew LandMemberHi Yannick:
Apologies for my late reply: The demo accounts indeed all have different account numbers. I am now testing with just one account, I closed the other 3 MT4s, so lets see if that makes a difference. I have not given each EA a different magic number – is that needed when you have multiple MT4s running?

On EURUSD however, it sometimes does not open a trade. EA is set to Long & Short direction though.

No, this is only needed if you use 2 more EA on the same symbol on the same account.
I have tested the EA with your broker and could not get the error.
When does the EA open too many positions? On the initial trade or on a reverseOnOppositeSignal function?
Does the EA open both trades in the same direction and at the exact same moment? Perhaps even with same SL, TP and MagicNumber? -
